RIP Old Betsy

Well, it has been a while.  And for good reason.   Betsy, my beloved sewing machine, has sewn her last thread.  She refuses to budge.  I have tried many things to fix her, but she's gone.  I'm not going to take her in to be fixed, she's far too old for it to be worth it.  And so I begin the research to find a replacement.  Above all, I want a machine that is not prone to jamming.  Any suggestions on particular machines that have proven themselves reliable?  Or good places to find reviews?  Sometimes online reviews frustrate me because the review is written the first day that the machine is used, and so the reviewer cannot at all speak to how the machine performs over time.  I'll post some links if I can find decent places to read sewing machine reviews.
