Love this...

I think that for most of my life I have had a lot of hopes and dreams and yet I have done very little about them.  I have mostly done what is safe, easy, normal, or expected of me.  Right now, I have a dream of being able to sew and create beautiful things and to have fun with the designing and creating process and so I am going to make making it happen!

Sneak Peek: Nursery Art

My work in progress
I've been wanting to make something to hang on the outside of my son's door for some time.  I finally found a fabric I like and have a vision for what I want.  It's a work in progress, but I thought I would give you a sneak peek at some of the fabric I am using.  It's Alexander Henry's 2 D Zoo in pool.  I know, this fabric has been around for years, and I'm late jumping onto this band wagon of 2D Zoo love, but hey, I just had a kid!  I'm just now making baby items.  And even though it's not the newest fabric out there, it's still awesome and I'm in love with it.  I have a goal of finishing it before December, so look for pictures of the final product by next week.

Babyville at Joanne's & Cloth Diaper Patterns

I buy most of my fabric online.  Many, many more options exist online and often the prices are better.  I am, however, a very visual person and so I do love buying fabric in person.  I received an email a few months back about Babyville, a new line that Joann Fabrics now carries.  Babyville Boutique carries a variety of products related to making your own cloth diapers.  They have a variety of PUL fabrics, snaps & velcro to coordinate, and books of patterns for cloth diapers.  You can find plenty of cloth diaper patterns online, but it is exciting that I can actually view and purchase PUL fabric in person.  I have yet to buy any, I'm too busy with Christmas projects, but I do plan on picking some up on Black Friday so that I can attempt to make my son some more cloth diapers.  I'll be sure to post some pictures when I attempt that project.  For now, I wanted to share with you two of the great cloth diaper patterns I have found online:

Organic Cotton Burp Cloths!

I have been working on some new items made from organic cotton, and I am absolutely in love with them!  The fabrics seen in the picture above are from birch's Storyboek collection.  I just LOVE the quality and feel of them.  You can see more of my new organic burp cloths by visiting my shop on Etsy.  I am slowly listing more and more items, so check back often.

Booster Seat Review & Giveaway

Just finished reading a great review of Safety First Air Protect Booster Chair on Akron Ohio Moms blog.  You can read the full review here.  We love our Safety First onBoard 35 Air infant car seat and travel system, so I was excited to read about the high quality of their convertible car seats and booster seats.  Akron Ohio Moms is a great resource for reviews of all kinds of children's and baby products.  What's even better is that they have many giveaways.  I especially recommend their website for those local to the area.
